Planet of People Vakfı'nın Amaçları
aşağıdaki konulara katkı yapmaktır:
• tüm insanlar arasında karşılıklı bilgi, anlayış ve saygı;
• ırksal, etnik, dini ve siyasi aşırı uçlarla mücadele;
• silahlı çatışmaların önlenmesi ve çözüme kavuşturulması;
• barışı muhafaza etme süreçlerinin geliştirilmesi;
• iç ve dış politika alanlarında çifte standardın ortadan kaldırılması;
• yeni nesillerin demokratik değerler, medeni hizmet ve barış kültürü ruhuyla eğitilmesi;
Bu amaçları gerçekleştirmek için Vakıf şunları yapacaktır:
• Planet of People görsel projesinin global ölçekte eşzamanlı yayın yapabilmesi için çok dilli, sınır ötesi bir uluslar arası Planet of People TV kanalı oluşturmak;
• günümüzde var olan tüm ülkelerin tarihini ve gündelik hayatlarının çoğu yönünü işleyecek, ayrıca en sıcak küresel sorunları ele alacak olan kültürel, eğitsel, haber ve analiz amaçlı Planet of People görsel projesinin oluşturulması. Tüm ülkelerde benzer konularda yayın yapan eğitim amaçlı ve diğer TV kanallarıyla eşzamanlı olarak global ölçekte Planet of People TV Kanalı yayınını gerçekleştirmek;
• bir eğitim kaynağı olarak hizmet verecek olan çok dilli bir Planet of People web sitesi kurmak, ayrıca Planet of People projelerini ve diğer kuruluşların benzer faaliyetlerini tanıtmak amacıyla bir web platformu oluşturmak;
• savaş ve terör karşıtı kitlesel faaliyetler düzenlemek ve diğer kuruluşların benzer faaliyetlerini desteklemek;
• Başlıca amacı barışı korumak ile savaş ve terör karşıtı etkinlikler olan yıllık Planet of People Dünya Festivallerini düzenlemek;
• Yerel, bölgesel, sınır ötesi ve kıtalar arası Planet of People Maratonları düzenlemek;
• İnsanoğlunun kültürel ve politik tarihi ile günümüzde uluslar arası toplumu etkileyen yakıcı sorunlar hakkında orta, lise ve yüksek okul öğrencilerinin katılacağı yıllık ulusal ve uluslar arası Planet of People yarışmaları düzenlemek;
• Planet of People gezi programları düzenlemek ve Planet of People'ın geçekleştirdiği yıllık ulusal ve uluslar arası yarışmaların kazananları için değişik ülkelerde yıllık Planet of People yaz kampları organize etmek;
• Planet of People Vakfı'nın amaç ve planlarına uygun olarak ve genel konsept içerisinde kalmak kaydıyla, kendi eğitsel ve kültürel programlarını yürütecek olan bir Planet of People Kültür ve Eğitim Merkezi kurmak;
• Ulusal ve yerel koşullara uygun biçimde tüm dünyada Planet of People Vakfı'nın yan kolları ile Planet of People Kültür ve Eğitim Merkezi'nin kuruluş çalışmalarını ve faaliyetlerini desteklemek ve koordine etmek, Vakfın genel tasarımını ve temel planları ile Merkez'in kendi programlarını hayata geçirmek.

 Constitution
of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization
The Governments of the States, Parties to this Constitution on behalf of their peoples declare:
That since wars begin in the minds of men, it is in the minds of men that the defenses of peace must be constructed;
That the wide diffusion of culture, and the education of humanity for justice, liberty and peace are indispensable to the dignity of man and constitute a sacred duty which all the nations must fulfill in a spirit of mutual assistance and concern;
That… the peace must…be founded, if it is not to fail, upon the intellectual and moral solidarity of mankind.
For these reasons, the States, Parties to this Constitution... are agreed and determined to develop and to increase the means of communication between their peoples and to employ these means for the purposes of mutual understanding and a truer and more perfect knowledge of each other's lives;
In consequence whereof they do hereby create the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization for the purpose of advancing, through the educational and scientific and cultural relations of the peoples of the world, the objectives of international peace...
Article I
Purposes and functions
1. The purpose of the Organization is to contribute to peace and security by promoting collaboration among nations through education, science and culture in order to further universal respect for justice, for the rule of law and for the human rights and fundamental freedoms which are affirmed for the peoples of the world, without distinction of race, sex, language or religion, by the Charter of the United Nations.
2. To realize this purpose the Organization will:
(a) Collaborate in the work of advancing the mutual knowledge and understanding of peoples, through all means of mass communication and to that end recommend such international agreements as may be necessary to promote the free flow of ideas by word and image;
(b) Give fresh impulse to popular education and to the spread of culture:
... By suggesting educational methods best suited to prepare the children of the world for the responsibilities of freedom;
(c) Maintain, increase and diffuse knowledge:
By encouraging cooperation among the nations in all branches of intellectual activity, including the international exchange of persons active in the fields of education, science and culture and the exchange of publications, objects of artistic and scientific interest and other materials of information;
By initiating methods of international cooperation calculated to give the people of all countries access to the printed and published materials produced by any of them.
With a view to preserving the independence, integrity and fruitful diversity of the cultures and educational systems of the States Members of the Organization, the Organization is prohibited from intervening in matters which are essentially within their domestic jurisdiction.
