Scopurile Fundatiei Planeta Oamenilor
sunt sa contribuie la:
• cunoasterea, intelegerea si respectul reciproc intre popoare;
• contracararea extremismului rasial, etnic, religios si politic;
• prevenirea si rezolvarea conflictelor armate;
• dezvoltarea procesului de mentinere a pacii;
• eliminarea agendei duble in politica interna si externa;
• educarea noilor generatii in spiritul valorilor democratice, activitatii civice si culturii pacii. Pentru realizarea acestor scopuri, Fundatia:
• va crea un Canal de televiziune multilingvistic international Planeta Oamenilor, care sa asigure difuzarea globala sicronizata a proiectului video Planeta Oamenilor;
• va definitiva un proiect video de cultura, educatie, stiri si analiza Planeta Oamenilor, proiect dedicat in primul rand intregii istorii si tuturor aspectelor vietii de zi cu zi ale tuturor statelor lumii, ca si celor mai acute probleme globale; acesta va fi destinat difuzarii sincronizate pe canalul multilingvistic international Planeta Oamenilor, ca si pe canalele educative sau alte canale interesate din intreaga lume;
• va crea un site multilingvistic Planeta Oamenilor care sa serveasca drept sursa de educatie pe un numar limitat de subiecte; va crea o platforma web pentru promovarea celorlalte proiecte Planeta Oamenilor si activitatilor similare ale altor organizatii;
• va organiza activitati in masa impotriva razboiului si terorismului si va sprijini activitati similare ale altor organizatii;
• va organiza Festivalurile Anuale Internationale Planeta Oamenilor, care vor fi privite in primul rand drept evenimente indreptate impotriva razboiului si terorismului si pentru mentinerea pacii;
• va organiza maratoane Planeta Oamenilor locale, regionale, internationale;
• va organiza concursuri anuale nationale si internationale Planeta Oamenilor pentru elevi si studenti, dedicate istoriei politice si culturale a omenirii precum si problemelor care afecteaza comunitatea internationala moderna;
• va crea tabere de vara internationale Planeta Oamenilor in diferite tari ale lumii pentru castigatorii concursurilor anuale nationale si internationale;
• va crea un Centru pentru Cultura si Educatie Planeta Oamenilor pentru a defini si implementa propriile programe culturale si educationale in concordanta cu scopurile si planurile Fundatiei Planeta Oamenilor;
• va sprijini si coordona crearea si activitatea filialelor nationale ale Fundatiei Planeta Oamenilor si ale Centrului pentru Cultura si Educatie Planeta Oamenilor din intreaga lume, pentru ca acestea sa lucreze la nivel national si local pentru implementarea atat a planurilor si scopurilor de baza ale Fundatiei, cat si a programelor separate ale Centrului care vor tine cont de circumstantele nationale si regionale.

 Constitution
of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization
The Governments of the States Parties to this Constitution on behalf of their peoples declare:
That since wars begin in the minds of men, it is in the minds of men that the defenses of peace must be constructed;
That the wide diffusion of culture, and the education of humanity for justice and liberty and peace are indispensable to the dignity of man and constitute a sacred duty which all the nations must fulfill in a spirit of mutual assistance and concern;
That the peace mustbe founded, if it is not to fail, upon the intellectual and moral solidarity of mankind.
For these reasons, the States Parties to this Constitution... are agreed and determined to develop and to increase the means of communication between their peoples and to employ these means for the purposes of mutual understanding and a truer and more perfect knowledge of each other's lives;
In consequence whereof they do hereby create the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization for the purpose of advancing, through the educational and scientific and cultural relations of the peoples of the world, the objectives of international peace...
Article I
Purposes and functions
1. The purpose of the Organization is to contribute to peace and security by promoting collaboration among the nations through education, science and culture in order to further universal respect for justice, for the rule of law and for the human rights and fundamental freedoms which are affirmed for the peoples of the world, without distinction of race, sex, language or religion, by the Charter of the United Nations.
2. To realize this purpose the Organization will:
(a) Collaborate in the work of advancing the mutual knowledge and understanding of peoples, through all means of mass communication and to that end recommend such international agreements as may be necessary to promote the free flow of ideas by word and image;
(b) Give fresh impulse to popular education and to the spread of culture:
... By suggesting educational methods best suited to prepare the children of the world for the responsibilities of freedom;
(c) Maintain, increase and diffuse knowledge:
By encouraging cooperation among the nations in all branches of intellectual activity, including the international exchange of persons active in the fields of education, science and culture and the exchange of publications, objects of artistic and scientific interest and other materials of information;
By initiating methods of international cooperation calculated to give the people of all countries access to the printed and published materials produced by any of them.
With a view to preserving the independence, integrity and fruitful diversity of the cultures and educational systems of the States Members of the Organization, the Organization is prohibited from intervening in matters which are essentially within their domestic jurisdiction.
