Goals of the Planet of People Foundation
are to contribute to:
• mutual knowledge, understanding and respect between all peoples;
• counteraction to racial, ethnical, religious and political extremism;
• prevention and resolution of armed conflicts;
• development of peace-keeping processes;
• elimination of double standards in the foreign and internal policy;
• education of new generations in a spirit of democratic values, civil activity and culture of peace.
To realize these purposes the Foundation will: • create a new multilingual cross-border Planet of People TV channel to ensure the synchronized global broadcast of the Planet of People video project;
• work out a cultural and educational, news and analytical Planet of People video project dedicated first of all to the history and almost all aspects of the present-day life of all now existing states, as well as to the most acute global problems, for synchronized global broadcast on the multilingual cross-border Planet of People Channel and selective broadcast on the interested educational and other TV channels around the world;
• create a multilingual Planet of People website to serve as an educational resource on a limited number of topics and a web platform for advertising all other Planet of People projects as well as similar activity of other organizations;
• organize its own mass anti-war and anti-terrorism actions and support similar activity of other organizations;
• organize annual Planet of People World Festivals the core design and schedule of which will enable it to be considered first of all as a peace-keeping, anti-war and anti-terrorism event;
. organize local, regional, cross-border and transcontinental Planet of People Marathons; • organize annual nation-wide and international Planet of People contests for middle, high school and college students dedicated to cultural and political history of mankind and acute issues affecting the modern international community;
• hold annual international Planet of People summer camps in various countries for the winners of the annual nation-wide and international Planet of People contests;
• establish a Planet of People Cultural and Educational Center to design and implement its own educational and cultural programs within the general concept and appropriate to the aims and plans of the Planet of People Foundation;
• support and coordinate establishing and activity of national chapters of the Planet of People Foundation and the Planet of People Cultural and Educational Center around the world to work at the national and local level implementing both general design and basic plans of the Foundation's and the Center's own programs in conformity with the national and local circumstances.

 Constitution
of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization
The Governments of the States Parties to this Constitution on behalf of their peoples declare:
That since wars begin in the minds of men, it is in the minds of men that the defenses of peace must be constructed;
That the wide diffusion of culture, and the education of humanity for justice and liberty and peace are indispensable to the dignity of man and constitute a sacred duty which all the nations must fulfill in a spirit of mutual assistance and concern;
That. the peace must.be founded, if it is not to fail, upon the intellectual and moral solidarity of mankind.
For these reasons, the States Parties to this Constitution... are agreed and determined to develop and to increase the means of communication between their peoples and to employ these means for the purposes of mutual understanding and a truer and more perfect knowledge of each other's lives;
In consequence whereof they do hereby create the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization for the purpose of advancing, through the educational and scientific and cultural relations of the peoples of the world, the objectives of international peace...
Article I
Purposes and functions
1. The purpose of the Organization is to contribute to peace and security by promoting collaboration among the nations through education, science and culture in order to further universal respect for justice, for the rule of law and for the human rights and fundamental freedoms which are affirmed for the peoples of the world, without distinction of race, sex, language or religion, by the Charter of the United Nations.
2. To realize this purpose the Organization will:
(a) Collaborate in the work of advancing the mutual knowledge and understanding of peoples, through all means of mass communication and to that end recommend such international agreements as may be necessary to promote the free flow of ideas by word and image;
(b) Give fresh impulse to popular education and to the spread of culture:
... By suggesting educational methods best suited to prepare the children of the world for the responsibilities of freedom;
(c) Maintain, increase and diffuse knowledge:
By encouraging cooperation among the nations in all branches of intellectual activity, including the international exchange of persons active in the fields of education, science and culture and the exchange of publications, objects of artistic and scientific interest and other materials of information;
By initiating methods of international cooperation calculated to give the people of all countries access to the printed and published materials produced by any of them.
With a view to preserving the independence, integrity and fruitful diversity of the cultures and educational systems of the States Members of the Organization, the Organization is prohibited from intervening in matters which are essentially within their domestic jurisdiction.
