| Planet of People Culture and Education Foundation is a non-profit, non-governmental organization created to contribute in accordance with the aims declared in the Constitution of UNESCO to peace and security in the world, in particular, by giving fresh impulse to and developing innovative methods of communication between the peoples and employing these methods to promote through educational and cultural exchange a truer and more perfect knowledge of each other's lives that can advance mutual understanding and respect which in its turn can be a foundation for intellectual and moral solidarity of mankind necessary in a spirit of mutual assistance and concern to defend peace and every man's dignity, human rights and fundamental freedoms affirmed by the Charter of the United Nations.
PLANET OF PEOPLE projects
Planet of People TV project - the main and unique part of the activity of the Planet of People Culture and Education Foundation is a cultural and educational, news and analytical Planet of People TV project dedicated first of all to the history and almost all aspects of the present-day life of literally all now existing countries, as well as to various international issues, and designed for the synchronized world-wide broadcast on the public Planet of People Channel and selective broadcast on the interested national and international channels. One of the missions of the project is to be kind of a multilingual country-specific video encyclopedia (historical, cultural, etc.) available for potential global audience during the round-o'clock broadcast on the public, non-profit Planet of People Channel, as well as from the website of the Foundation.

Planet of People multilingual internet project – the website planet-of-people.org will serve primarily as a resource of country-specific information and a tool of advertising and informational provision on all other Planet of People projects; all video materials of the Planet of People TV project will be placed on the website and can be available for educational purposes of any organizations and individuals for free or at a symbolic charge; participants of the Planet of People photo project will be able to place their photos on the Planet of People website.
Planet of People International Culture and Education Center – mission of the PPICEC will be educational activities at the local level concerning information about history, culture and many aspects of the present-day life of various countries, as well as possible support of and active participation in various local cultural, educational, charitable, peace-building, environmental protection, improvement of human environment, social, etc. initiatives and projects, support of talented children and youth, cultivation of leader qualities and propensity to civil activity in children, engagement of children and youth in charitable activity, advocacy and cultivation of healthy living in children and youth, advocacy and organizational support of self-organization of small communities in resolution of their social problems; training of personnel and volunteers of the Foundation for the work on its program in their immediate residence area, their countries and abroad.
Planet of People International Culture and Education Center is supposed to work in close col-laboration, in particular, with various educational institutions, non-governmental youth organizations, as well as with governmental and municipal bodies dedicated to the work with youth and children.
Planet of People Marathons (local, regional, cross-border, transcontinental) are designed as a means to attract attention to the Planet of People TV and other projects, as well as to various other themes and presumptive joint projects; participants of the Planet of People Marathons will carry out their mission on behalf and in the interest of the Planet of People Foundation and its partner organizations (charitable projects, establishing representative and partner contacts, find-raising, photo and video reportages, etc.); the simultaneous start and finish of the three first transcontinental Planet of People Marathons (North America - Mexico - Brasilia - Buenos Aires - Antarctic, Norway - Cairo - Nairobi - Cape Town - Antarctic, Portugal - Moscow - Beijing - Australia - Antarctic) are planned for 2009 - spring, 2010.

Planet of People contests among senior high school and university students is designed to attract attention of youth to the Planet of People TV and other projects; with financial support of the national sponsors and chapters of the PPCEF the winners of the national Planet of People contests will be able to take part in the Planet of People youth travel programs.
Planet of People youth travel programs – the winners of the national Planet of People contests will be able to take part in the Planet of People youth travel programs with financial support of sponsors and the PPCEF; young people who aside from recreation, entertainment and sight seeing consent to fulfill as volunteers a certain assignment on behalf and in the interest of the PPCEF (visiting orphanages, aiding elderly needy people, advertising, establishing represent-tative and partner contacts, photo and video reportages, fund-raising, etc.) will be able to participate in the Planet of People youth travel programs at their own expense using a forum on the website of the PPCEF to arrange completion of international groups and coordinating support of the PPCEF to diminish expenses.
Planet of People World Festival is supposed to be held every year in various large cities worldwide with support of local, national and international sponsors and the interested governmental and municipal bodies. The mandatory program of the event in all cities (about 10-20 on all continents) will include charitable concerts of the country- and worldwide well-known and famous musicians and the Planet of People Documentary Film Festival with films dedicated to acute global issues. All revenues of the concerts, other shows and donations made during the events will be used for the further charitable activity of the Planet of People Foundation and joint projects with partner organizations. (Note: the Show Marathon in July, 2007 with the objective to attract attention to the problem of the Global Warming was held in 10 large cities around the world and visited overall by millions of people, and watched on TV by more than 2.000.000.000 audience. We think that such global problems as the international terrorism, armed conflicts, spread of nuclear weapons and thread of a large-scale war, extreme poverty in the countries of the third world, etc. are not less acute and important than the Global Warming, and we believe that many nation- and worldwide famous show stars share this opinion and will agree to participate in the Planet of People World Festival)*
* all Planet of People projects were designed and planned for the work on them in 2008-09 before the beginning of the world financial crisis; nevertheless, the author of the Planet of People project, its initiative group and supporters in various countries are sure that the ongoing crises considerably complicating resolution of financial issues in no way excludes necessity and expediency of continuation of the preparatory work on the projects and the very possibility of their gradual implementation in 2009-10.
