Het doel van de “Planeet van Mensen”- Stichting is, bij te dragen aan:
• wederzijds inzicht, begrip en respect tussen alle volkeren;
• de bestrijding van raciaal, etnisch, religieus en politiek extremisme;
• de preventie en oplossing van gewapende conflicten;
•de ontwikkeling van vredesmissies ;
•de afschaffing van dubbele standaarden in het buitenlands en binnenlands beleid;
•de opvoeding van nieuwe generaties in een geest van democratische waarden, civiele dienstbaarheid en een cultuur van vrede.
Om deze doelstellingen te realiseren zal de Stichting:
• een nieuw meertalig grensoverschrijdend internationaal publiek TV-kanaal “Planeet van Mensen” creeren,om de gesynchroniseerde wereldwijde uitzending van het “ Planeet van Mensen”- videoproject te verzekeren;
• een cultureel en educatief, journalistiek en analytisch “Planeet van Mensen”- videoproject uitwerken, hoofdzakelijk gewijd aan de geschiedenis en de meeste aspecten van het hedendaagse leven in alle huidige landen, en aan de meest acute mondiale problemen, voor de gesynchroniseerde mondiale uitzending ervan op het publiek meertalig grensoverschrijdend “ Planeet van Mensen” -kanaal en de selectieve uitzending ervan op andere geinteresseerde en educatieve TV-kanalen in alle landen;
• een meertalige “Planeet van Mensen”-website creeren die dienst zal doen als een educatieve hulpbron voor een beperkt aantal thema's en als een web-platform voor publiciteit voor alle andere projecten van Planeet van Mensen en soortgelijke activiteiten van andere organisaties;
• een heleboel anti-oorlog en anti-terrorisme acties organiseren en dergelijke activiteiten van andere organisaties ondersteunen;
• een jaarlijks “Planeet van Mensen”-wereldfestival organiseren, dat omwille van het kernconcept en het programma bovenal kan worden beschouwd als een pacifistisch , anti-oorlog en anti-terrorisme evenement;
• regionale, nationale, internationale, transcontinentale en
wereldwijde
“Planeet van Mensen” -marathons organiseren;
• jaarlijks nationale en internationale “ Planeet van Mensen”- wedstrijden organiseren voor studenten van het secundair en hoger onderwijs en universiteitsstudenten, in verband met de culturele en politieke geschiedenis van de mensheid en acute problemen van de moderne internationale samenleving;
•” Planeet van Mensen”- reisprogramma's organiseren en jaarlijks internationale “Planeet van Mensen”- zomerkampen inrichten in verscheidene landen voor de winnaars van de jaarlijkse nationale en internationale “Planeet van Mensen”- wedstrijden;
•een “Planeet van Mensen” c ultureel en educatief centrum oprichten en eigen onderwijs- en culturele programma's implementeren binnen het algemeen conceptueel kader, die geeigend zijn voor de doelstellingen en plannen van de “Planeet van Mensen”- Stichting;
• de oprichting en activiteiten van nationale afdelingen van de “Planeet van Mensen” alsook de werking van de “Planeet van Mensen” culturele en educatieve centra wereldwijd, steunen en coordineren, bij het implementeren op nationaal en lokaal niveau van zowel het globale concept en basisprojecten van de Stichting als de eigen programma's van het centrum in overeenstemming met de nationale en plaatselijke omstandigheden.

 Constitution
of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization
The Governments of the States, Parties to this Constitution on behalf of their peoples declare:
That since wars begin in the minds of men, it is in the minds of men that the defenses of peace must be constructed;
That the wide diffusion of culture, and the education of humanity for justice, liberty and peace are indispensable to the dignity of man and constitute a sacred duty which all the nations must fulfill in a spirit of mutual assistance and concern;
That… the peace must…be founded, if it is not to fail, upon the intellectual and moral solidarity of mankind.
For these reasons, the States, Parties to this Constitution... are agreed and determined to develop and to increase the means of communication between their peoples and to employ these means for the purposes of mutual understanding and a truer and more perfect knowledge of each other's lives;
In consequence whereof they do hereby create the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization for the purpose of advancing, through the educational and scientific and cultural relations of the peoples of the world, the objectives of international peace...
Article I
Purposes and functions
1. The purpose of the Organization is to contribute to peace and security by promoting collaboration among nations through education, science and culture in order to further universal respect for justice, for the rule of law and for the human rights and fundamental freedoms which are affirmed for the peoples of the world, without distinction of race, sex, language or religion, by the Charter of the United Nations.
2. To realize this purpose the Organization will:
(a) Collaborate in the work of advancing the mutual knowledge and understanding of peoples, through all means of mass communication and to that end recommend such international agreements as may be necessary to promote the free flow of ideas by word and image;
(b) Give fresh impulse to popular education and to the spread of culture:
... By suggesting educational methods best suited to prepare the children of the world for the responsibilities of freedom;
(c) Maintain, increase and diffuse knowledge:
By encouraging cooperation among the nations in all branches of intellectual activity, including the international exchange of persons active in the fields of education, science and culture and the exchange of publications, objects of artistic and scientific interest and other materials of information;
By initiating methods of international cooperation calculated to give the people of all countries access to the printed and published materials produced by any of them.
With a view to preserving the independence, integrity and fruitful diversity of the cultures and educational systems of the States Members of the Organization, the Organization is prohibited from intervening in matters which are essentially within their domestic jurisdiction.
