  POLAND

TVP1 – is a television channel owned by TVP (Telewizja Polska S.A.),
Poland 's national public broadcaster. It was the first Polish channel to
be broadcast and remains one of the most popular today.

TVP2 is a Polish public mainstream TV channel operated by TVP. Its varied line-up contains all kinds of programming (documentary, history, talk-shows, game-shows) although it focuses on entertainment: stand up comedy, comic shows, cabaret, and themed talk shows (for example on travel or foreign cultures).

TVP Kultura is the first TV theme channel to be run by the Polish public broadcaster TVP. It was launched on April 24, 2005 and is dedicated to arts and culture. Every day of the week, the channel concentrates on other disciplines; e.g., cinema, music, etc. It is broadcast from the TVP headquarters in Warsaw and is available in cable networks and on digital platforms in Poland.

TVP Historia is public, history channel available on cable, satellite and DSL (documentaries).

TVN is a major Polish commercial television network, founded by Mariusz Walter and launched on October 3, 1997. It is part of ITI Group, the biggest Polish media company. TVN is available over the air, through satellite and cable television.
In 2004 TVN was available in 86% of Polish households. Since 2004 TVN is listed on Warsaw Stock Exchange. On April 29, 2004 TVN launched TVN International, an entertainment and news channel for Polish viewers living abroad. In 2005 TVN acquired rights to organise and broadcast Sopot International Song Festival until 2010.
