The main goal of the PLANET OF PEOPLE MARATHON project:

  • is to attract attention of the global general public and potential audience of the Planet of People Channel to the Planet of People TV and other projects.

The basic program of the Planet of People Marathons includes:*

  • creation of a series of video-reportages about the events of the marathons, as well as related films, both intended for subsequent broadcast on the Planet of People Channel and, potentially, other interested channels;

  • meetings with representatives of the departments of regional and local governments supervising culture, education, working with youth, international relations (discussion of questions about collaboration in the realization of the cultural and educational Planet of People projects on regional and municipal levels);

  • meetings with representatives of political and public (veterans, teens, women's, ecological, humanitarian, peacemaking, philanthropic) organizations;

  • presentation of books collected by the Planet of People volunteers all over the world as donations to public libraries and universities with linguistic faculties;

  • placement of memorial sculptures symbolizing the fundamental idea of the Planet of People project in all marathon locations (see above) – striving for peace, joining efforts in resolution of humankind's common problems. **

Marathon crew and their responsibilities :

  • project coordinator (representative of the Planet of People Marathon project, general command of the marathon crew , responsibility for fulfillment of the marathon's program as a whole );

  • translator/assistant (represents a certain hosting country and carries out the coordinating/translating duties necessary to realize the marathon's program while the marathon is passing this country);

  • journalist ( stories about the progression of marathon and related topics with intent of publication in various periodicals in accordance with prior agreements);

  • director/screen play writer (creation of a series of video-reportages about the events of the marathon, as well as related films, both intended for subsequent broadcast on the Planet of People Channel and, potentially, other interested channels );

  • camera operator ;

  • two on-screen presenters (a man and a woman – respective obligations in film production);

  • driver (2);

  • security guard.

Additional members of a Marathon crew:

  • assistants/translators (volunteers – additional translation services and assistance in managing marathon events in their immediate residence area);

  • security guard (regular employees of the law and order sector – will be provided by municipal and regional law-enforcement bodies when necessary).

Transportation : medium-sized busses (20-25 seats)

Funds: donations, sponsors.

Organization: preparation for carrying out the Planet of People Marathons will be handled by an International Organizational Committee in collaboration with regional and local Planet of People Foundation's structures, partner non-governmental organizations and interested regional and municipal structures in the countries of the Marathons.

* inclusion of additional events or actions into the Planet of People Marathons' programs will be considered and coordinated with the corresponding interested regional and municipal structures, sponsors, etc. ;   

** an open international contest will be announced for the design and development of:

  • the emblem of the Planet of People Marathons ;
  • the project of a memorial sculpture for the Planet of People Marathon project (financing of manufacturing: sister cities, philanthropists, sponsors).
